The Days of Kindergarten
Well, it's that time of year again. School is starting and kids are getting back into the swing of things. In celebration of the new school year, I bring you my husband's kindergarten class picture. I know I graced you with the presence of his third grade pic, but this one is a good one. See if you can pick him out. (You can click on the picture to make it bigger.)

Oklahoma!!
Well, Dyson and I had a wonderful weekend together! We attended Tre's birthday party, at which Dyson and the other kids had a wonderful time- despite the fact it was 101 degrees!

The Birthday Boy!!
We then packed up our things and headed to Oklahoma for the night. J.D. has been working up there for a couple of weeks now, and Dyson hasn't gotten to see his daddy in almost a month. When I pulled up to pick him up, he jumped out of his mom's truck and said, "Remember, Mom? Today is my special day!" To which his mother replied, "I know! I'm so excited for you!" I asked him why today was his special day and he so sweetly replied, "'Cause today I finally get to see my Dad!" His mother then proceeded to tell me that he had been looking forward to this day because he had been really missing his daddy. So, that right there made this trip all the more special!
When we got to J.D.'s rig, father and son were reunited with lots of hugs and kisses! Then J.D. took Dyson up on the floor of his rig, and of course, I had to snap a pic of both of them in their hard hats. (Please do not mind my husband's shirt-I promise he only wears it at work!)

We went to eat pizza, Dyson and J.D. played together for a bit and then off to bed we went! J.D. had to be back at the rig at 5 a.m., but at least we got to see him for a little bit. I gave up my spot next to J.D. because Dyson wanted to sleep with his daddy and there wasn't enough room in the double bed for all three of us. So I slept in the bed next to theirs. Well, I wouldn't exactly say I slept. J.D. was snoring so loud, I couldn't sleep.
Today on the way back, I promised Dyson we could drive by Turner Falls so he could see the falls and we could take pictures. I wish I had brought my bathing suit and we could have stayed for a while! The water looked so nice!

June
So far in the month of June:
1. I have learned we will be taking over legal custody of my sixteen year-old brother
2. My husband got laid off (for the second time this year)
3. My husband got a new job
4. My brother-in-law fell off a roof in Iraq into an empty swimming pool and will be coming home this weekend to North Carolina
5. My husband has been gone for 2 weeks to a 3 week long well in Oklahoma
6. We had to drop $500 on the Tahoe for what we thought was only the need for an alignment, only to find out we also had a broken tie rod and also needed two new front tires
So in a nutshell, my life has been pretty hectic.
Dyson and I will be shooting up to Oklahoma tomorrow so he can see his daddy and I can get some time in with my hubby! It will only be a one night trip, but at this rate, we will take what we can get!
We will be leaving the end of June (hopefully) to Missouri for the annual Loftis family reunion at Emerald Beach at beautiful Table Rock Lake. J.D's grandparents live right on the lake and every summer each of the kids, grandkids and great-grandkids head their way for vacation. Since everyone works in the oilfield, it spreads out over a whole month. Poor Grandma and Grandpa- their home and property is filled with 40+ people trickling in and out for the whole month of July! It is so much fun and we can't wait to see everyone this year! We weren't able to go last year, so we are super excited to have the opportunity to go this year. I am ready to come home for a while!
On our way back, we'll be picking up my brother, Sam, with all of his belongings for him to come live with us for a couple of years. He will start his junior year here at Ponder High School. We are excited and can't wait to have another member of our family around! Now when J.D. is off to work for weeks at a time, I won't be alone!
I have been so busy this summer already, that I haven't really had the time (or the energy!) to post, but I plan on keeping everyone informed as events occur. I have some pictures I have been meaning to post, so one of these days I will get on that. I hope everyone is having a great summer thus far!

Lazy
I know it's been forever since I posted on this thing and in my defense, I have a very good reason. I am lazy. So much has been going on in the past weeks, I couldn't begin to fill you in. I promise I will start doing better at keeping everyone posted about my little life in great big Texas. In the meantime, here are some pics my sister sent me of the babies and Liam. I am so proud of them! Until next time...

This is awesome...
So handsome! (Doesn't look too excited about the wedding)
Just like Daddy!
Awww, I wanna kiss those cheeks!
Ok, those cheeks are calling my name!

What's Good For the Gander is Good For the Goose
Okay, so a while back I posted a really old class picture of my husband's and wanted everyone to see if they could figure out which one he was. I think he was rather embarrassed that I would show this to literally anyone in the cyber world, so I thought it was only fitting to post one of mine. So, here goes. Please do not mind the really bad "Baby Houseman" hair or the god-awful outfits. Laugh if you will, but I know I was cool...

Much Overdue...
I know, I'm a little late posting Easter pics, but please forgive me!! We had the family over to our house this year for Easter dinner. J.D. made his famous chicken strips- they're soooo good! It was wet and rainy outside, as it had stormed ALL night long, so the Easter bunny hid eggs inside this year.
